I have loved receiving pictures of your sketches throughout lockdown. You have all developed your sketching skills.
Ruby has sent images of her work over the past few weeks. Each time I receive an email with a picture of her work I am blown away! Like many of you, she is putting 110% effort into her home learning and it is definitely paying off! Well done Ruby!
Our maths champion Markus is learning from home this week and has sent in pictures of his art! Looks like he is after an art champion title too! Well done Markus. It looks great.
Thank you again for all your effort this week! You never fail to blow my socks off with your hard work and resilience. I am one very proud Year 4 teacher!

Last week, we started our TTRockstar challenge to improve our personal scores. I was incredibly impressed with how many of you logged on and improved your personal best.
To be a TTRockstar champion, you don’t need to have the most coins or even the best scores.
Our two champions for this week have won this title by simply putting in the effort. They have both been on TTRS multiple times this week, and spent over 15 minutes trying to improve their scores!
And the winners are …
Curtis and Markus!
Well done boys! You have made me super proud this week!
The challenge will continue this week and I will keep checking scores each day. Remember, its not about scores or coins! It’s about effort and resilience.

From 1-7 February 2021 schools, youth groups, organisations and individuals across the UK will take part in Children’s Mental Health Week. This year’s theme is Express Yourself.
Expressing yourself is about finding ways to share feelings, thoughts, or ideas, through creativity. This could be through art, music, writing and poetry, dance and drama, photography and film, and doing activities that make you feel good.
In preparation, we are going to be exploring the different ways we can express ourselves and the creative ways that we can share our feelings, our thoughts and our ideas.
I express my self by singing loudly (usually whilst I’m driving) or by dancing in my kitchen! When I do this I instantly feel all my worries fly away. I usually listen to songs I liked when I was in primary school, like FABULOUS by Sharpay Evans from High School Musical 2. Have a listen!

Today, you should have designed your own coat of arms. Your coat of arms should represent the things that are important to you. That could be your home town, your religion and your interests.
Here are a few images of the ones you have designed in school and at home.

Hello Year 4! How has your first week of remote learning been? It has been quite strange not having you all in our classroom. However, it has been lovely seeing all the wonderful work you have been completing at home. Please keep sending them my way!
On Monday, we will begin to take part in Rob Biddulph’s sketch-along. Rob is a bestselling author and illustrator. He has filmed many sketch-along videos that are perfect for developing our pencil skills.
In class, we joined Rob and sketched the robot and the octopus. We thoroughly enjoyed drawing with Rob. Here are some of our attempts:
